Party in the CTL: NKA Overnight

Our last week of our Grand Slam Summer and we couldn’t think of a better way to spend it than at Overnight Camp with our NKA group (18 and older). Some of these campers have been coming to ESP summers for years, and they look forward to this week all year long! Don’t worry, the week definitely lived up to the hype! We’re walking you through a full 120 hours of fun!

During Overnight Camp, our campers get to have the true summer experience with a whole range of activities. All of our campers have the chance to kayak, boat, fish, swim, zipline, rock climb, and horseback ride! Horseback riding is especially an ESP favorite! Sparkles (Caitlin Sparks) rode her horse on the last day of camp, and Josie even lead the horse around the arena all by herself! Our campers loved the chance to interact with the horses and try something new.

All of our campers did such a wonderful job of participating and a lot even improved their skills from previous years at camp! Kenzie was so proud of how she climbed higher on the rock wall, and Hallie caught a fish this year!

While all the activities during the day are fun, the night activities are where NKA really lets loose. On Monday night, the whole ESP family watched the Bachelorette season finale. Our staff has spent all summer watching the show together each week so sharing the finale with their ESP family was extra special!

Tuesday night was a social time for all the campers to get together and hang out with their friends. Everyone remembers the summer nights where they listened to music and laughed with their friends, so it’s a joy to watch our campers make these memories.

On Wednesday, things got wacky at the Wacky Olympics (think ESP’s own wonderfully messy Fridays of day camp)! The Wacky Olympics include all kinds of messy games with shaving cream and water that give our campers a time to be wild (and maybe even get their buddies a little dirty in the process). What better place to get wild and messy than camp though?

Thursday is the most anticipated evening event with the annual talent show! Campers get a chance to have the spotlight on them and share with their friends what they know and love! Joshua brought the house down with Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’ and Daniel solved his Rubik’s Cube with record speed!

Friday morning brought many tears as our campers and staff weren’t ready to say goodbye to each other or our Grand Slam Summer. That’s what is so special about these camp memories though; they stay with us even as parts of our family move on to accomplish other dreams. We hit this summer out of the park and cannot wait to see everyone back for our 360 programs in the fall! Learn more about getting involved HERE
