AmeriCorps Member

ESP just became an official AmeriCorps State Program site for the state of Georgia. AmeriCorps is the domestic version of the Peace Corps – a year-long program in which people commit to a year of service in order to improve their communities. Our members will work in one of two capacities, and in return, receive a monthly living allowance, education award, personal development, and rent-free housing at Camp Hooray.

There are two roles: the Java Joy Program Leader and the Family Experience Leader.

The Java Joy Program Leader will create and implement job skills training for all Joyristas, encourage and assist all Java Joy members, and more.

The Family Experience Leader will focus on reaching families of a child with a disability in low-income and rural communities through targeted outreach to schools, serve as an advocate for with disabilities, and more.
