Tribal Summer – Week 2 Recap

By Katharine Manroe

How have we already finished two weeks of camp already?? Time really does fly when you’re having fun. We loved welcoming back old friends as well as seeing some new faces around ESP! We spent the week bowling, swimming, making slime, and competing in the Tribal Games at Camp Hooray! Thank you to everyone who made Tribal Summer Week 2 so incredible!

Swimming at Legion Pool

We had so much fun swimming at Legion Pool again this week! Rylan had so much fun splashing around with her buddy. Rylan loved being able to play games and make new friends at the pool!

Visiting Legion Pool to swim is an all-around favorite camp activity! Nick enjoys swimming laps during instructional swim time, but he always looks forward to free swim. He loves being able to swim around and hang out with his friends!

Bowling at Showtime

Brendan enjoyed bowling with his buddy!

Who doesn’t love going bowling with all your friends?? Every week, we look forward to going bowling with all our campers because it’s so much fun!

JoJo said waiting for your turn to bowl isn’t so bad when you get to hang out with Jonah!

Morning Rotations

Morning Rotations are the best because it’s the time we get to hang out with our unit and try new things!

The Vocational Unit was able to make some more progress on their summer project – building gardens both at the ESP Office and at Camp Hooray! The gardens are shaping up nicely – keep up the amazing work, Vocational Unit!

Carolena had fun playing with her purple slime!

Pete loves trying new things with campers during his specialty rotation, ESPete. This week, we made our very own slime from scratch! We also played Giant Jenga with Pete!

Aysha was careful not to knock over the tower!

Our Youngest Unit made paper airplanes during arts & crafts! Everyone had a blast seeing who could get theirs to fly the furthest!

Matt was chosen to be his team’s pitcher!

Everyone was able to try their hand – or rather, foot – at playing kickball during Maddie’s specialty rotation, Magic with Maddie!

Claudia was able to safely make it to first base!

Tribal Games at Camp Hooray

On Friday, we got to head on over to Camp Hooray for Tribal Games! We played disc golf, badminton, dizzy bat, and cornhole! We even had an egg relay and had a sack race. There was also an arts and crafts station to create fun things! After the games, we had a delicious lunch of hamburgers and hotdogs provided by the Georgia Cattlemen’s Association. After lunch we cooled down with a water balloon fight!
